Gallarati Architetti came to life in June 2009 with the association of architects Mario Gallarati and Giacomo Gallarati.


Mario Gallarati was born in 1953 in Genoa. He took his degree in Architecture in 1977 with professor Paolo Maretto at the University of Genoa. He continued his studies within the Italian School of Processual Typology, undertaking research on themes like typological analysis and urban scale design. He published the following volumes: Linguaggio edilizio ed immagine urbana a Chiavari (Genova, 1983, in collaboration with M.D.Brambilla); Ambiente e architettura - Componenti tipologiche della struttura insediativa (Genova, 1995); Architettura a scala urbana - Urban Scale Architecture, as a unique number of the review Studi e Documenti di Architettura (Firenze, 1994).
Contract Professor of Composizione Architettonica e Urbana at the Architecture Faculties of Genoa and of Florence from 1990 to 2004, Mario Gallarati is a Member of CISPUT, Centro Internazionale per lo Studio dei Processi Urbani e Territoriali, of ISUF, International Seminar on Urban Form, and INTBAU, International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture & Urbanism, where he sits as member of ICTP, Intbau College of Traditional Practitioners. With his own practice, Studio Architettura Gallarati, he has worked since 1978 in the field of architecture and urbanism.


Giacomo Gallarati was born in Genoa in 1980. He took his degree in Architecture at the University of Genoa in 2005 and in 2009 he achieved his PhD in Architecture with a thesis on the urban history of Constantinople. He has also devoted himself to architecture designing directed to the protection of archaeological sites in the ambit of his participation to the Master in Museography, Architecture and Archaeology, organized by the Accademia Adrianea Onlus (2007- 2008). Senior Architect with 10+ years of experience, Giacomo has direct experience in all the work stages. Thanks to his studies and professional experience, he has developed an excellent skill in identifying the potentialities of sensitive historic and landscape areas, combining intuition with a firm method of analysis and "reading" of architecture and territory. His entrepreneurial experience allowed him to develop strong communication and presentation skills and ability to deal with clients from different sectors
